The residential facilities at CAN are simple yet comfortable, featuring single and double rooms, a shared kitchen and bathroom, Wi-Fi, workshops, and common areas for artistic or research activities. The workshops are well-lit with natural light, equipped with water and electricity, and suitable for seminars, courses, or meetings.
la bastida
La Bastida is the central and largest building within the CAN complex. It houses workspaces, rooms, a library, restrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, and the management office. The dining room of La Bastida is where all CAN residents gather in the evenings for communal dinners.
Rooms:
The rooms in La Bastida are cozy and offer views of the Coma de Burg valley. They are equipped with comfortable beds, large windows, Wi-Fi, a work desk, a balcony, a wardrobe, and towels.
There are three rooms in the La Bastida building: two singles (Salmon and Yellow rooms) and one double (Blue room). Together, they can accommodate up to four residents.
Workshop Spaces:
Library
The library is an ideal space for study, research, or desk-based work. It features an extensive scientific and literary collection, a binocular magnifying glass, and an internet connection.
Pau Alemany Workshop
The Pau Alemany Workshop is the most versatile space at CAN. Covering 65m², it includes parquet flooring, tables, chairs, and a water outlet for projects involving plastic arts. The space also boasts a piano, making it suitable for composition and table work, as well as activities requiring movement, such as theater or performing arts. The large windows provide spectacular views of the Coma de Burg, making it an inspiring environment.
Taller Brut (The Dirty Workshop)
The Taller Brut, a 65m² space, is the most distinctive workshop at CAN. Carved into the bedrock, it is designed for intense artistic work such as painting, sculpture, and engraving. The workshop includes a pool, tables, chairs, a water outlet, and access to La Bastida’s patio. Its glass doors and south-facing design allow natural light to flood in, contrasting with the humidity emanating from the bedrock that forms the foundation of all the buildings in Farrera.
The price per night in the rooms of La Bastida is €45/night.The use of the workshops is included with the stay at the Art and Nature Centre, at no additional cost.
l'estudi
L'Estudi is Farrera's old school, located in Plaça Major, right in front of the La Bastida building. It is an independent apartment with:

- Double bed
- own toilet
- Loft with extra beds
- Work space
- Internet connection
The price per night in L'Estudi (complete apartment) is €60/night.The use of the workshops is included with the stay at the Art and Nature Centre, at no additional cost.
rehearsal room l'aixalda
Our largest space, Sala de l'Aixald), consists of 120m² of technical oak parquet and offers spectacular views of the Coma de Burg. It is a 10-minute walk from La Bastida, where the residents stay. It is ideal for theatre, dance and performing arts projects in general. The space is part of the Refugi l'Aixalda, where lunches and dinners are also offered.
The rehearsal room has:

- Technical oak parquet
- Sound equipment
- Toilet
- Showers
The use of the Sala l'Aixalda is included with the stay at the Center d'Art i Natura, but it is necessary to check its availability.
La gastronomia
del Centre d'Art i Natura
Five nights a week, CAN residents come together in the dining room to share their creative processes with fellow residents and the CAN team in a relaxed atmosphere, accompanied by excellent food. The cuisine at the Centre d’Art i Natura reflects our core values: we prioritize high-quality ingredients and traditional techniques, offering food that is as natural as possible, locally sourced, seasonal, and organic. The result is a varied, balanced, nutritious, and delicious menu—a true sensory delight crafted by our chef, Silvia Sampons. Dinners at CAN are mandatory for residents and cost €18 per person.
Our chef takes into account all dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences to ensure every resident enjoys a complete and satisfying gastronomic experience.
CAN dinners are also open to non-residents who wish to join. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
